A Marino Walking Tour

A Step back Through Time
Join us for a tour of Lord Charlemont’s former Marino Demesne. We will walk from the Casino to the neighbouring St Vincent’s GAA club to see the remains of our 5-walled garden, move onto the grounds of the Marino Institute of Education, past the Christian Brothers cemetery to the main MIE building decorated with the urns of Marino House & on to their main gates – once the entrance gates to the Demesne. From there we’ll cross Griffith Avenue into the Marino Housing estate, celebrating its centenary next year, formerly the site of Marino House. We’ll leave you at the Crescent in Marino, the infamous Wall of Spite, home to Bram Stoker, close to bus & Dart station or a 7 min walk back to the Casino itself, for those who came by car.
