Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop
An ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or work of art. The Casino is currently home to the portrait exhibition Person Presence Perception, 41 pieces of art by 40 artists exploring how the person is portrayed in paintings and how the viewer perceives that portrayal. Over the course of this 2-hour workshop for adults and big kids, our resident poet and tour guide Damien B. Donnelly will encourage participants to find a way into these works of art on the walls and translate them into poems on the page.
